Dia de los Muertos

The Days of the Dead
Los Días de

Los Muertos
Ink People Center for the Arts
411 12th St., Eureka

Los Dias de Los Muertos /the Days of the Dead are a tradition in Mexico and in many Mexican American communities to celebrate family and friends whose spirits visit the earth once a year to celebrate the sweetness of life. Though the performances and crafts at the Grange and Ink People are over, the Art installation is still up till the end of November.

Unlike Halloween, Los Dias de Los Muertos /the Days of the Dead are not a scary time but a time for family gatherings and reflection. It is a reminder that life and death are part of a natural cycle, and that the spirits of those we care about are always with us. Humboldt Communidad was convened 5 years

ago to share the diversity of our
cultures on the Northcoast. We thank the organizers, food preparers,
decorators, performers, donors, sponsors, artists, and family members
for their talents and  contributions to these special events for our entire community.
