This year we will be partnering with another organization, PARA to host the event at the Grange.  It will be a family event with crafts, music and food.

It is a tradition in Mexico and in many Mexican American communities to celebrate family and friends who spirits visit the earth once a year to celebrate the sweetness of life. Unlike Halloween, the Days of the Dead are not a scary time, but a time for family gatherings and reflection.  It is a reminder that life and death are part of a natural cycle.  The spirts of those we care about are always with us. 

Humboldt Communidad was convened under the auspices of the Ink People Center for the Arts about 5 years ago to share the diversity of our cultures on the Northcoast.  We appreciate the contributions of the organizers, food preparers, decorators, performers, sponsors, artists and family members for their talents and contributions to these special events for our entire community.
