The goal of GrangeNet is to work together, share together and build together. To expand the skill set and leadership potential of the Grange.
GrangeNet operates as a learning community where individuals and groups can offer their expertise. Participants in this collective agree to work in a respectful, supportive manner free of racism, classism and sexism.
GrangeNet has Core Focus Areas that are in Member Development, Grange Hall Preservation and Community Partnerships. In Member Development GrangeNet focuses on outreach, work-day skill shares and passing on fraternal traditions. In Grange Hall Preservation it focuses on historic restoration, upgrades for health and safety, partnerships to increase rental income, oral history and micro-loans. Community Partnerships utilizes sustainable agriculture workshops and economic development, energy conservation, emergency response teams, watershed and fisheries protection, and civic engagement
GrangeNet focuses on three areas of support; Funding, Communication and Facilitation. Funding will come from a number of sources including fundraising, micro-financing from subordinate granges, memorandums of understanding, business partners and foundations. Communication methods include printed guides, convening community conversations and electronic networking. Facilitation strategies involve surveys to determine community assets, mentorship, and skill-based teams to help revitalize community relationships.
GrangeNet builds relationships with community organizations in agriculture, sustainability and youth development. It mentors youth as the emerging Grange leadership. It builds bridges with disenfranchised communities who need a place to meet, organize and serve.
